BuilderEditor ASP.NET component licensing FAQs
General FAQs

No, you need only purchase a license for each production website/webserver
where BuilderEditor will be used. For development you can use the trial license
(branded not for production use) on any number of development systems.

If you have a valid domain (e.g. intranet.domain.com) for your intranet a
single web site license would be appropriate. If your users access your
intranet through a server name, IP or other means or if you have multiple
sites, a server license would be required.

No. You only need to buy a license for the website/webserver where the product
will be used. For development and testing purpose you can use trial version
which includes all the features of the purchased version. The trial version is
branded "not for production use". When you buy a license the product will be
rendered without branding.

Server license FAQs

A server license is adequate if you have your own dedicated server. It
allows you to use the product in any number of web applications in one physical
server.

Web site license FAQs

A web site license is adecuate if you don't have your own dedicated server or
if you wish to use the product in only one web application.

A valid domain format abc.domain.ext (e.g domain.com, www.domain.com,
subdomain.domain.com, sub1.sub2.domain.com, www.sub.domain.com). Any licensed
domain will work with and without the www subdomain at no additional charge.

Yes. Your web site license will work with or without SSL for your
licensed domain. A license for http://www.yourdomain.com will also
work for https://www.yourdomain.com.

Yes. The domain name must be specified when you register your product not when
you buy it. Once you have a domain name you can register your product. The
registration process can be done at any time after you purchase the product.

No. The URL is assigned to your license when you register your product and it
cannot be changed. If you are not sure about your web site URL we
suggest you to register your product until you be sure about the URL to be
licensed. The registration process can be done at any time after you purchase
the product. Another solution would be to consider the server license
which allows you to use the product in any number of web applications in one
physical server.

No, the license is domain specific and will work for yourdomain.com and
www.yourdomain.com. A separate sub domain would require another web site
license. Another option would be to consider a server license which allows
you to use the product on any number of sites/url's for one physical server.

Enterprise license FAQs

An enterprise license is adecuate if have your own dedicated server(s). It
allows you to use the product in any number of servers within the same company,
organization or enterprise.

License registration FAQs

The license registration is a process where you provide personal/company
information, serial number, website/webserver information. After you provide
all required information a new license file is given to you. The new license
file allows you to activate the product.

From the Start menu, select Programs, select Mixba, select BuilderEditor 1.0,
select License, select Registration Manager. The 'Registration Manager' program
will ask your for user/company information, after it a new license
file, waiting for being activated, will be installed in your machine.

Only one time. It is important that you specify all the information correctly,
specially website/webserver information, because the information cannot be
modified after registration. The website/webserver information is
requested only for web site/server license.

License activation FAQs

The license activation ties the license to the machine where the
activation process is executed. The activation process is executed after you
have registered your license. After you have activated your license the "not
for production use" brand will disappear.

Minor changes doesn't affect your licence activation. If you require to make
major changes as changing your server machine or changing your hosting service
provider then you would have to activate your license again. You can
contact us
to let you activate your license again.

Yes. As the license activation ties your license to the machine where
the activation process is executed it is important that you activate your
license in your production server/website.

Open any webform using the BuilderEditor, an activation form is displayed.
Click on "Click here to activate online". A new license is installed in the
server hosting your web application.

When you click on "Click here to activate online" a new license is
installed in the server hosting your web application, however if you don't have
enough rights to install the license file then the activation form will still
being displayed.
To fix this issue your will have to download the license and then copy it to
the \bin directory in your web application. Request your webform with the
following format:
webformname.aspx?serialNumber=[SERIALNUMBER]&download=true
For a MBESSL-AAAAA-BBBBB-CCCCC-DDDDD-EEEEE serial number the web
form request would be:
webform1.aspx?serialNumber=MBESSL-AAAAA-BBBBB-CCCCC-DDDDD-EEEEE&download=true
A "Save As" dialog must be displayed to save the activated license. If it
doesn't fix your issue please contact us.

Yes. You can activate your license by e-mail. Just send us your serial number,
machine key and order number, we will return you a new activated license.

No. You only need to register your enterprise license. The new registered
license must be installed in all the servers where you wish to use the
BuilderEditor. Use the "Enterprise license installation" program to install the
registered license in new servers. To run the "Enterprise license installation"
from the Start menu, select Programs, select Mixba, select BuilderEditor 1.0,
select License, select Enterprise license installation.
